The Retreat

Seven days. No phones. One of them is not a guest.

Burned-out ER nurse Jess Calloway is "chosen" for a free week at Halcyon, a luxury wellness retreat hidden in the red-rock canyons of southern Utah. Phones go into a locked velvet box. Every night, the eight guests sit around a fire and confess something they've never said out loud. Then one guest vanishes, the emergency satellite phone turns out to have no battery, and Jess finds a file in the office with her name on it, and the name of a patient she couldn't save.

A twisty, emotional psychological thriller about guilt, grief and who pays the price when healthcare is run like a spreadsheet.
